It’s an exciting time here at Hawk Ridge Systems as we introduce a new feature that is now included with all new SOLIDWORKS licenses: Share and Markup.

Getting Feedback with Share and Markup

Letโ€™s dive into what Share and Markup can do. Picture this: you’re deep in your design work, and you’ve reached a point where you want some feedback. Maybe you want to validate a design choice, or perhaps you’re unsure about a particular element and need a second pair of eyes. Either way, the next step is typically the same: sharing your work.

This is where Share and Markup come in. From within SOLIDWORKS, with just one click, you can create a unique URL for your design. That link can be shared with anyone โ€” be it your colleagues, clients, or external partners.

They just click on the link, quickly create a free 3DEXPERIENCE login if they donโ€™t already have one, and they’re in! No complex software or downloads โ€” just straightforward design collaboration right from the browser. Itโ€™s worth mentioning too that you can also restrict the view to a specific email address or create a general link that can be shared with anyone.

Once they’re in, your collaborators have a powerful suite of tools at their disposal. They can view your design in full 3D, manipulate the view to better understand its intricacies, take measurements, and directly drop in comments for you to review. They can even markup areas directly on the model, effectively highlighting areas of interest or concern.

โ€œ3D Markup is a fully cloud-based viewing and markup tool that allows you to collaborate with other platform users and mark up the actual model thatโ€™s stored on the platform, so you are not creating a duplicate and all the markups and comments stay with that data as well, so thereโ€™s a full paper trail.โ€ ย

The real magic of Share and Markup, though, lies in its simplicity. All this is done directly from their browser โ€” no special software installations, no need for powerful hardware. Itโ€™s as simple as that. This new tool bridges the gap between you and your collaborators, streamlining your design review process like never before.

Comments and feedback in SOLIDWORKS

No catch, no fine print โ€” this a new core feature included in all SOLIDWORKS subscription plans. This is SOLIDWORKS simplifying collaboration for you. Say goodbye to the days of juggling multiple software installations, sending large files back and forth, or dealing with various file versions. Say hello to smooth, efficient, and hassle-free collaboration. Share and Markup is more than just a feature โ€” itโ€™s a huge time-saver.

We can’t wait for you to experience the benefits of Share and Markup for yourselves. Collaboration in SOLIDWORKS has never been easier or more efficient. As always, we at Hawk Ridge Systems are committed to supporting you every step of the way.
