Explore What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2023

Table of Contents

October is an exciting time of year for SOLIDWORKS users and Hawk Ridge Systems because we get to showcase the latest enhancements coming to the SOLIDWORKS software portfolio. The release of SOLIDWORKS 2023 is coming in November and, as always, it features a wide array of new and improved features that are based on real user suggestions gathered throughout the year.

With SOLIDWORKS 2023 — and the expansion of the 3DEXPERIENCE portfolio — you’ll be able to work smarter and faster while collaborating more effectively.

SOLIDWORKS 2023 enhancements you need to know

Work Smarter with More Automation in SOLIDWORKS 2023

Work smarter, not harder. SOLIDWORKS 2023 offers more automation to help improve your design processes across all facets of your CAD model; including drawings, sheet metal, and structure design.

Within SOLIDWORKS Drawings, one of our team’s favorite new features allows administrators to manage geometric tolerancing standards by only enabling certain standards within the software, making sure team members detail drawings in a consistent manner.

While new features and automations are always exciting to see, sometimes it’s the simpler improvements to fix past challenges that really make a new release shine. One example of this in SOLIDWORKS 2023 is the new tools for automating mate error resolution in assemblies, which resolves a long-standing issue that has occurred previously when editing and modifying parts in assemblies.

Work Faster Through Streamlined Workflows and Improved Performance

SOLIDWORKS 2023 continues to build on the previous years of improvements when it comes to working with large assembly design. There are a variety of enhancements in this area to streamline workflows, create more automation, and improve overall speed and performance.

In this release, lightweight mode is improved and applied by default when working with large assemblies, which makes open and save performance up to three times faster. For you this means significant time savings depending on the size and complexity of your assembly.

Work Better Together with the Extended SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE Portfolio

Today’s industry is fast-paced and there is more pressure than ever before to reduce costs while speeding up time to market. For engineering teams to accomplish this, streamlining the entire product development process and collaborating more effectively is an absolute must.

That is why the SOLIDWORKS R&D team continues to invest in a greater portfolio of solutions, including:

•    Accuracy and speed enhancements to simulation solutions
•    Increased performance and security for data management
•    An enhanced color picker for Visualize so you can more easily apply brand colors
•    Plus, the continued development of the cloud-based and cloud-connected 3DEXPERIENCE applications

When our team was asked about the most impactful enhancements outside of SOLIDWORKS CAD, they pointed to the fact that in PDM, all traffic is now encrypted, which greatly enhances data security during file transit.
