Discover What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2022

Table of Contents

It’s that time of year – the time that is highly anticipated by SOLIDWORKS users around the world. It’s October and that means it’s time to discover what’s new in SOLIDWORKS. The release of SOLIDWORKS 2022 is just around the corner and, as always, this newest release will include hundreds of enhancements and new features driven by what you, the user, want and need.

At Hawk Ridge Systems, we’re constantly looking for ways to help our customers be more efficient, so the new SOLIDWORKS releases are always exciting – and this year does not disappoint. SOLIDWORKS 2022 gives you the tools to accelerate your product development process even more by allowing you to work smarter, work harder, and work together better.

Work Smarter With New Features, Enhancements, and Improved Workflows

SOLIDWORKS 2022 allows you to create better, more innovative products faster through improved workflows and feature enhancements across every aspect of your process, from part and assembly design to simulation. Many of these enhancements have been designed to help you execute your most sophisticated designs, rather than spending excessive time on routine, repetitive tasks.

Would you like to create part geometries faster than ever before? These are just a few of our favorite part modeling enhancements here at Hawk Ridge Systems:

  • Shortcut keys (Q) and hover-over actions to unlock and select reference geometry without having to go to the tree or display menu
  • The Stud Wizard designed for quickly creating and detailing threaded rod features
  • Hybrid mesh modeling which combines the best of working with mesh geometry and parametric geometry in a fluid process

Other key enhancements to help you work smarter include new configuration tables to eliminate the need for Excel, an improved workflow for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, cut list support in BOM tables, and countless user-interface enhancements that will let you work more efficiently.

Work Faster With Improved Performance in SOLIDWORKS 2022

We all face tight deadlines which mean that we need to get more work done in less time. In SOLIDWORKS 2022, there are significant improvements in performance as well as other enhancements to get work done faster and in fewer steps.

With performance enhancements to both assemblies and drawings, you’ll get the job done faster with SOLIDWORKS 2022. A few of our favorite new capabilities include:

  • Improvements in detailing mode, allowing you to pre-save standard views from large assemblies and do more without loading the model, including hole tables
  • Subassemblies can now be opened in Large Design Review for instant viewing, measuring, mate creation, and more
  • Improvements to graphics pipeline technology that increases FPS for smoother rotation and zooming performance

SOLIDWORKS 2022 also features big enhancements to structure systems for weldments which allow connections to automatically be placed from a library, and improvements to secondary member creation.

Work Together Through Effective Collaboration

In today’s fast-paced product development industry, efficient and effective collaboration is critical to success. You need to work collaboratively not just with your team, but across your entire organization – and sometimes beyond! And with more people working in remote locations than ever before, we know sometimes that collaboration can be tricky.

You can improve your teamwork – and thus your competitive advantage – by tapping into the power of the cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Eliminate silos and unite teams in a secure and collaborative environment. SOLIDWORKS 2022 maximizes the connection to the platform by leveraging its collaboration capabilities and improving workflows within 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS.

Ready to Optimize Your Designs?

In an increasingly competitive industry, you can’t afford to lose time to cumbersome workflows, slow performance, or poor communication. For designers who are constantly facing aggressive deadlines to beat the competition, the enhancements that SOLIDWORKS 2022 bring to the table are key to developing an optimized product development process so you can create high-performance designs more efficiently.
