Think of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as a web-connected operating system for next-generation design and business applications. It allows a variety of functions to run, and these are unlocked by purchasing roles to conduct different workflows.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is sold in modules called roles. Each role is for a specific task and a role can contain multiple applications. Every role on the platform is tied to a specific, named user. Everyone connecting to the platform will need to be assigned their unique set of roles.
The base level functionality of 3DEXPERIENCE Data Management requires a foundational role package called Collaborative Business & Industry Innovator. These give you the ability to connect from any smart device from anywhere in the world. You can view 3D content from any browser and manage revisions, lifecycles and cloud data. You would then purchase and assign other roles based on each user’s role.
Yes, you can purchase foundation roles in increments of 5, 10 and 25. These incremental packages are referred to as “Collab Packs” and can be distributed to as many named users as you have roles available for.
