It really depends on your unique situation. In most cases, people lean toward SOLIDWORKS because it is easy to learn and can handle most designs. CATIA is best for exceptionally large, complex designs.

This is a very common question. Both products will be around for the foreseeable future and can be leased quarterly or yearly. Leasing lets you get started right away and change platforms when you are ready (if that works best for you).
We typically suggest that if you are working with stakeholders running a specific version, like CATIA V5, it’s a good idea to stick with that version.
If you are not working directly with partners and you want the latest in technology, 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA might be a good fit.

Absolutely! At Hawk Ridge Systems, we’re here to assist with your migration. There’s a convenient add-in for CATIA V5 that allows you to upload all your designs directly to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Once uploaded, 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA will open and manage all your existing designs.
Very easy. Both CATIA versions allow for easy future additions.
If you need more capabilities, we can add them to your existing license and help with licensing and installation.
Nope, it won’t be a problem at all. 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA has a rollback function for exporting to previous versions. These exports will open in previous versions, such as V5. However, keep in mind that the feature tree will be missing and will import as a solid body.
