Fast, Affordable, and Supremely Versatile 3D Scanner

The Artec EVA is ideal for capturing medium to large objects and takes our award for the most versatile 3D scanner of all time. If you need unrestricted mobility, the EVA is extremely light and allows you to scan on battery power. You can also work with multiple scanners by daisy-chaining it with other EVAs for 360-degree motion capture or combining data with any mix of other Artec scanners.

The EVA scanner is based on structured light, rather than laser-based, and allows you to double up on the detail of your data with Artec’s revolutionary HD Mode. With its versatility and portability, it’s easy to see why EVA is the most popular professional handheld scanner in the world.

Every company is different, and when it comes to training for 3D scanning, one size doesn’t fit all. Hawk Ridge Systems can tailor a training plan to focus on the needs of your application.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is HD mode?

HD mode employs advanced machine learning algorithms to filter and process the raw scan data, resulting in significantly higher resolution (ability to capture detail) and noise reduction at the expense of increased computer power and processing time.

How large of objects can I scan with the Artec EVA?

The EVA does not have a hard size limit, so this depends largely on your available computer power. The EVA is generally considered a great fit for vehicle-sized objects and smaller, though larger objects are perfectly feasible.

What kind of computer do I need for processing scans?

Artec scanners do not require an especially high-performance computer, though investing more in certain components – like the GPU – can result in greatly reduced processing times.

Is the EVA good for scanning people or anatomy?

Yes. In fact, the method of capture used by Artec’s EVA and Leo scanners is exceptionally conducive to scanning people. The alignment methods allow them to tolerate the micro-movements associated with live models, setting them apart from many other scanners. Experienced Artec users can routinely scan a complete human body in 1-2 minutes.

Can the EVA be used with targets or stickers?

Yes. While the main draw of Artec’s technology is their ability to scan without targets, they are compatible with various 3rd party photogrammetry kits which allow them to be used with targets for greatly enhanced dimensional accuracy.

Can the EVA be battery powered?

EVA is able to run off a belt-worn battery pack (sold separately) or standard AC power.
