Extending the Digital Thread: An Introduction to StartProto
Explore how AI and connected manufacturing workflows eliminate operational silos and strengthen the digital thread across your business.
The Next Evolution of the Digital Thread with StartProto
The future of manufacturing is not just about better engineering software. It is about connecting the entire operation with intelligent workflows that reduce manual work and improve visibility from design through production.
Join us for an exploration into why manufacturers are rethinking traditional software stacks, what operational challenges remain after engineering is complete, and how AI is enabling a new generation of connected manufacturing workflows.
You’ll also hear from StartProto CEO Tim Felbinger as he shares how manufacturers are using a CAD-agnostic Manufacturing Operating System to unify operations, bridge disconnected systems, and unlock agentic AI across the business.

What You Will Learn
Why the digital thread shouldn't stop at CAD, PDM, or engineering
Where manufacturers lose time and margin due to disconnected operational systems
How a Manufacturing Operating System complements existing engineering investments
Practical examples of agentic AI solving real manufacturing challenges
What the future of connected manufacturing looks like—and how to prepare for it

Tim Felbinger
CEO of StartProto
Tim Felbinger is the Founder and CEO of StartProto, a manufacturing software company focused on modernizing production operations through data-driven systems and agentic AI. He brings a cross-disciplinary background shaped by early exposure to both software development and industrial automation.
Tim began his formal career in engineering, working at BMW in Munich before returning to the United States to lead a prototyping lab at Georgia Tech. There he gained firsthand insight into the inefficiencies, manual processes, and labor constraints facing small and mid-sized production environments. StartProto was born from that experience.
