FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if I don't have access to SOLIDWORKS? Can I still take the class?
Yes. We will provide you access to the latest version of SOLIDWORKS via FRAME. If you'd like to use your own license (current versions only, please), you are welcome to do so. If you are using your own license, you will need to download the files. We will send those files to you shortly before the start of your class.
Will my class have a live instructor?
Yes! All of our online classes feature a live instructor who will be able to assist with your questions and give insight and tips for your applications. We maintain the same 10:1 student to instructor ratio as our in-person classes.
Will I get a training manual?
Yes. We typically ship a manual via UPS to the address you gave at registration, two to three weeks prior to the start of your class. You will receive a tracking email from UPS. Many of our manuals also come with an online viewing option located on the inside front cover.
What are the technical requirements needed to attend an online class?
1) Most students have found both GoToTraining and FRAME work best using Chrome
2) We recommend a broadband landline internet connection. WiFi connections must be at least 10 Mbps.
Not sure about your internet speed? Test your connection speed (https://www.speedtest.net/th)
3) Although not required, having two monitors is highly recommended to allow you to access both SOLIDWORKS or FRAME and GoToTraining at the same time.
Can I get a separate copy of the training files?
Yes. You may download a set of SOLIDWORKS training files by class and version. Visit www.solidworks.com/trainingfilessolidworks
What should I do to prepare for my class?
Here are a few tips to maximize your learning potential:
1) Eliminate distractions and set aside space and time to focus on learning.
2) Actively participate by engaging with the instructor and other students. Ask questions and offer feedback. If you feel you are falling behind, speak up.
