See why over 6 million engineers choose SOLIDWORKS as their design tool.
There are two free trial environments. When you request a trial, a member of our team will contact you to discuss which option is best for you and get it initiated.
Option 1 is an online hosted trial environment with no installation required. With this environment, you can connect to an online storage account (Box, Google Drive, Dropbox) after you start the trial to move files in and out of the environment.
Option 2 is a trial license with a serial number that will need to be installed on your computer. This is a good option for those who want to test third-party add-in compatibility or for testing performance on your workstations.
For the installed trial license, you will be able to try the latest release of SOLIDWORKS Premium. Other products can be tested by request as well, please contact us and we will get those set up for you.
With the online hosted trial experience, you will get to test out the latest release of SOLIDWORKS Premium and access to SOLIDWORKS Simulation Professional, SOLIDWORKS MBD, SOLIDWORKS CAM, and SOLIDWORKS Visualize. You also have the option to try SOLIDWORKS Electrical in the online environment.
The SOLIDWORKS product trial is always the latest and greatest version of SOLIDWORKS, regardless of which trial environment you use.
For the installed trial license, your trial can last for 7, 15 or 30 days. The online hosted trial lasts 7 days.
You can stream SOLIDWORKS to HTML5 compatible browsers, including the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge, on desktop devices, including Windows, Mac, Chromebooks, and Linux PCs.
SOLIDWORKS is leveraging the latest technology to deliver you incredible 3D software over the internet. With that in mind, we do suggest using this with a broadband connection of at least 3000/300 Kbps (Download/Upload). For best experience, we have found 5000/500 Kbps to be ideal for 1920×1080 resolution. For an acceptable experience, a minimum of 1000/100 is as low as a user should go.
