This course is designed to teach the core skills required to use SOLIDWORKS Plastics in a part design environment. You will learn the essential steps of performing a filling analysis: meshing, setting processing parameters, and reviewing results for manufacturability or potential defects. Topics covered include predicting and addressing air traps, short shots, sink marks, and shrinkage/warpage in order to optimize part design and material selection.
PREREQUISITES: SOLIDWORKS Essentials and a fundamental knowledge of plastic materials, plastic part design, and/or injection mold design
SOLIDWORKS PLASTICS – PART VALIDATION TOPICS COVERED:
Basic Flow Analysis
Injection Locations and Sink Marks
Optimizing Cooling Time
Insert Over molding
